How do we do that? By combining the processing of radar and optical satellite images with supply chain data. This enables to trace deforestation downstream, tracking the journey from tree to shelf for clients like Mondelez, Bunge, AAK, Rabobank, Gar, Musim Mas. The data collected on the way allows them to map the web of relationships between producers, traders and manufacturers so clients can pinpoint deforestation risk areas and high-risk stakeholders in their supply chain and enable targeted engagement.
